Pak Suzuki Motor Corporation (PSMC) has been forced to declare additional non-production days (NPDs) beginning in April 2023 as a result of ongoing operational difficulties.
The business announced the closure of the assembly plant, which would take place from April 7 to April 14, 2023, in an official notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). The report cited a shortage of inventory as the cause.

Suzuki Plant Shutdowns in First 3 Months of 2023
Since January 2023, Suzuki has shut down manufacturing six times. The firm made its most recent notification on March 17, suspending bike production for a period of 12 days.
The sales of Pakistan’s largest automaker have suffered this year as a result of the frequent shutdowns. Suzuki sold fewer than 1,000 units in February, according to a recent study.
Since the nationwide COVID-19 lockdowns in April 2020, during which time both production and sales were at a standstill, this is the automaker’s poorest result to date.
Pak Suzuki sold 2,940 cars in January, a staggering 74% decrease from the previous month’s sales. The dismal sales of the Alto, which dropped from 6,898 units in December 2022 to just 44 units in January 2023, were the main cause of the steep downturn.
