The increase in demand for solar panels in the country ahead of the summer season has resulted in a significant price increase.
According to details, the cost of solar panels has risen from Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 300,000. For example, a 7-kilowatt system that was previously priced at Rs. 850,000 now costs more than Rs. 920,000.
Similarly, the cost of a 10-kilowatt solar panel system has risen from Rs. 11 lakh to Rs. 12.5 lakh.
A 12-kilowatt system is now priced at Rs. 16 lac, up from Rs. 14 lac previously. Meanwhile, the price of a 15-kilowatt system has risen by Rs. 300,000 to Rs. 18 lac.
The price increase primarily affects grid-connected solar panel systems, with additional costs incurred for hybrid setups that include batteries for energy storage.
The rising cost of solar panels is putting financial pressure on consumers, particularly those participating in the federal government’s net metering project.
Solar panel prices in Pakistan fluctuate due to a variety of economic factors, as well as occasional political instability in the country.
The brand reputation, efficiency rating, capacity, and specific installation requirements all contribute to the rising costs.
