Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was released earlier than normal in October of last year, and it appears that the chipmaker will follow suit with the 8 Gen 4 launch.
Qualcomm CMO Don McGuire stated that this year’s Snapdragon Summit will take place in October in Hawaii.
During the present Mobile World Congress (MWC) exhibition in Barcelona, the CMO shared a video about X and announced that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will include Oryon CPUs. You may view the video below.
However, Qualcomm is about to introduce a new addition to its Snapdragon 8 Gen series, shortly before the much-anticipated release of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
This forthcoming chip, known as the SM8635, is said to feature a single Cortex-X4 CPU running at 2.9GHz and an Adreno 735 GPU to handle graphically demanding workloads.
Rumours say that this chip will be manufactured utilising TSMC’s cutting-edge 4nm node technology and will reach an amazing AnTuTu benchmark score of over 1.7 million.
Because it is conveniently located between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Gen 3, industry sources believe it will be known as the Snapdragon 8s Gen 2 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Lite.
While there is no information on its release date, we expect it to arrive in the middle of the year, just a few months before the next Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
Xiaomi, Motorola, and Samsung are expected to be the first to embrace the latest flagship Qualcomm chip, known as Gen 4.
