Pakistan has released the design for a special Rs. 75 note to commemorate the country’s 75th anniversary of independence.
The State Bank of Pakistan revealed the new currency note’s design via a tweet.
Unlike other currency notes, which only carry the image of the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, it is embossed with the pictures of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, and Allama Iqbal.
In a similar vein, the vignette on the back, created by artist Sara Khan, depicts Pakistan’s national animals, the Markhor and Deodar, underscoring the value of protecting both our environment and the country’s distinctive flora and fauna.

“The note has portraits of Quaid-i-Azam, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Allama Iqbal and Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah to recognize and acknowledge their contribution in Pakistan movement. The picture of Markhor on the note’s reverse highlights our focus on environmental sustainability,” the tweet stated.
The note also has numerous security features, such as raised printing on the portraits that can be felt with the fingers, a watermark featuring the image of Quaid-e-Azam and the number 75, Pureimage security thread with pulsing holographic rainbow effect, and 75 numeral micro-lettering, among others.
Following the SBP Board’s recommendations, the federal government accepted the currency in compliance with the SBP Act of 1956.
Starting on September 30, 2022, the note will be available for public issuance.
