Samsung Galaxy Unpacked took place on July 22, 2026 in London, and it turned out to be one of Samsung’s biggest hardware events in years. Leaks had pointed to three foldables including a new wider Galaxy Z Fold 8, a premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8, which would be Samsung’s first time launching three foldables at once. Samsung delivered on those expectations, and here is a clear breakdown of what was shown, what the new Galaxy AI features actually do, and what Pakistani buyers should expect.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026: Three Foldables at Once

Samsung Electronics hosted Galaxy Unpacked in London and described the next generation of Galaxy devices as set to deliver “more personal and adaptive experiences” in the AI era. The event tagline, “A New Shape Unfolds,” pointed toward a strong focus on foldable hardware and changing device designs.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 headlined the event with a redesigned wider form factor, a larger cover display, and improvements aimed at reducing the visible crease using Samsung’s new Flex Titanium display technology. This is a genuinely big change. Past Galaxy Z Fold phones had a narrow, tall cover screen that many users found awkward for everyday typing. The new wider, shorter shape fixes that.

Seemingly official renders showed a wider, shorter device described as a passport-style form factor, built around a 5.5-inch outer display at a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 7.6-inch inner display at 4:3. That means the phone feels like a normal smartphone when closed, and opens into something close to a small tablet.

Reports indicate the Fold 8 could feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, up to 16GB RAM, as much as 1TB of storage, and a battery between 4,800mAh and 5,000mAh with faster charging support.

Samsung also introduced a second book-style foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, offering a larger internal display and targeting premium users. The phone is currently rumored to start at $2,100, making it Samsung’s most expensive mainstream phone to date.

As for the clamshell model, the Flip variant may not have as much to offer as its peers, with a recent leak suggesting Samsung may not bring any significant upgrades to most of the Z Flip 8’s hardware, mainly just giving the phone a new chipset.

Galaxy AI Personal Features: What Is Actually New

Beyond the hardware, one thing Samsung made clear is additions to Galaxy AI, its own suite of artificial intelligence features, whether it’s features from the Galaxy S26 Ultra being brought to the new foldable phones or smartwatches. Expect more predictive AI, automations using agentic AI, and generative AI for photo editing.

2026 marks a massive strategic shift for Samsung, headlined by a dual-model strategy for the Z Fold lineup, major upgrades across the wearable ecosystem, and the official transition into Agentic Galaxy AI. Agentic AI means the phone can carry out multi-step tasks on your behalf, not just answer questions. Think of it like a personal assistant that can book, edit, and send things without you tapping through every screen.

Samsung also unveiled intelligent eyewear at the event. It’s a big year for smart glasses, and Samsung has been working on a partnership with Google that announced “intelligent eyewear” created with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker at Google I/O in May.

Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 Also Shown

Samsung is expected to take the wraps off the Galaxy Watch 9 series and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 at Unpacked, with One UI 9 potentially getting detailed as well. The Galaxy Watch 9 series and Watch Ultra 2 are also supported by regulatory filings spotted before the event. These watches are expected to carry the same Galaxy AI health and fitness tools that Samsung has been building into its wearables over the past two years.

Expected Pakistan Price for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8

No official Pakistan pricing was announced at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked, and Samsung Pakistan has not confirmed local retail numbers yet. That is normal: Samsung typically lists Pakistan prices a few weeks after the global launch.

Based on the global leak figures, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could start between $1,899 and $1,999, while the Fold 8 Ultra may cost around $2,099 and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 approximately $1,099. In Pakistan, import duties, sales tax, and currency conversion all push the final retail price well above the direct dollar conversion. Early Pakistan price estimates for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 are around Rs. 623,999, though that figure is preliminary and will shift once official distributor pricing arrives.

For comparison, if you are currently looking at Samsung’s mid-range options while waiting for the foldable prices to settle, you can check our coverage of the Samsung Galaxy A17 Pakistan price and specs for a sense of where the more affordable end of the Samsung lineup sits right now.

Pakistani buyers who do want a foldable should also factor in that Samsung opens pre-orders shortly after Unpacked. Samsung typically opens pre-orders right after the event and ships about two weeks later, usually with bundle and trade-in promotions. Early reservation deals can include free storage upgrades or accessories, so watching Samsung Pakistan’s official channels in the days after Unpacked makes sense.

Should Pakistani Buyers Wait or Buy Now?

Foldables remain premium, niche products in Pakistan. At an expected price above Rs. 600,000, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will appeal mainly to power users and professionals who genuinely need the large inner screen for productivity. The Galaxy Z Flip 8, while cheaper globally, may still land above Rs. 300,000 in Pakistan once all duties are applied.

If you are on the fence, consider this: Apple is also expected to enter the foldable market later in 2026, so it may be worth seeing both before deciding. Competition is also intensifying from Chinese brands that are pushing foldables at lower prices globally, which could eventually bring more affordable options to Pakistani shelves.

The biggest practical upgrade in this generation is the Flex Titanium screen technology that reduces the visible crease. For users who were put off by the crease on older models, that is a real reason to look at the Fold 8 seriously. For everyone else, the Galaxy AI features will also roll out to older supported devices via software updates, so you do not need new hardware just to access the AI tools.
