In a long-awaited step, Samsung has finally released an upgrade to address concerns about the Galaxy S24 series’ dull-looking displays.
Galaxy S24 series
The firmware is slated to be released this month for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, and it will include a “Vividness” slider in the Display’s Advanced Settings.
While the menu is already included in the current version, it lacks this particular slider. Samsung concedes that it first chose a more natural default screen setting, but has decided to listen to user feedback.
Super AMOLED display
As a result, consumers who want a more vibrant Super AMOLED display can now change the slider to their liking, giving them more flexibility and customisation options.
The upgrade will also include some new camera features, albeit the phrasing is intentionally unclear. Regardless, Samsung has hinted at many improvements, including the “device’s zoom functions, Portrait Mode, Nightography, rear camera video shooting capabilities, and more.”
This enigmatic teaser implies that customers may expect a slew of upgrades to their photography and filmmaking experiences with the Galaxy S24 series.
The update is yet to arrive in several regions, including Europe, so users will have to wait a while before it is available on their smartphones.
Call Recording over Wi-Fi
Speaking of updates, Samsung recently enabled a beneficial function on the Galaxy S24 and a few other phones as part of One UI 6.1. This version includes call recording for Wi-Fi calls known as (VoWiFi).
For those who are unaware, VoWiFi allows you to make calls over a Wi-Fi connection in the event of a poor cellular connection. The feature is easily accessible through the phone’s settings menu, namely under Other Call Settings.
