The Pixel series from Google might herald significant changes in 2023, 2024, and 2025. An Android Authority story claims that the company’s 2023–2025 roadmap for Pixel phones has been leaked.
The company may bring two Pixel phones to Google I/O in April or May 2023, according to the story, which cites a trusted source.
Lynx and Felix are the codenames for these cell phones. Previous leaks claim that “lynx” is a codename for the Pixel 7a and “felix” is a codename for the Pixel Fold.
According to the rumor, Google would likely maintain the Pixel 7a’s price parity with the Pixel 6a. The Google Pixel 6a retails for $449 in the US and Rs. 43,999 in India, for comparison.
A Google Tensor G2 chipset is anticipated to power the Google Pixel 7a. It might include various improvements over the forerunner, including as wireless charging and a 90Hz refresh rate.
Google may release its key flagship series, the Google Pixel 8, in the second half of 2023.
The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro could be part of the series. With the 2023 Pixel series, there won’t be any significant modifications, according to the Android Authority report.
The codenames for the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are “shiba” and “husky,” respectively.
The newest silicon chipset from Google will power both of these mobile devices. “Zuma” is the codename for the future Google Tensor G3 processor.
Google might release the reasonably priced Pixel 8a in the first half of 2024. The business might introduce the Pixel 9 series in the latter part of the year.
However, the source claims that the Pixel 9 series will only include three smartphones.
The standard device will be the Google Pixel 9, which is anticipated to have the same size and format as the Pixel 8.
The Pixel 9 Pro, also known as “komodo,” is expected to include a 6.7-inch display.
A second Pro-level model, codenamed “caiman,” will be released. The device is rumored to contain all the Pro-level functionality of the 6.7-inch model but may have the 6.3-inch model’s appearance.
In 2024, the business might release a second foldable phone. Google intends to introduce the Galaxy Z Flip, a foldable phone with a clamshell design, in 2025.
“However, if Google abandons the flip-style device, it would move ahead with four non-folding phones. That would be a vanilla model in small and large sizes and a pro model in small and large sizes,” the report says.
