In Dubai, virtually everything is feasible with enough money. Now you can add walking on the moon to that list, or at the very least reserve a luxurious room. This week, Moon World Resorts, a Canadian architecture firm, revealed plans to build a $5 billion resort that resembled Earth’s orbiting relative.
The goal of the initiative is to make space travel accessible to people who don’t know Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk. The “lunar colony,” the region around the resort’s lunar surface, is intended to simulate being on (or very near) the Moon’s surface.
Visitors may also make reservations for one of the 300 exclusive boutique homes, dubbed sky villas, which will be located in the main building’s disc-shaped superstructure. You can enter the on-site private members’ club if you purchase a villa.

According to co-founders Sandra G. Matthews and Michael R. Henderson in a press release, “Moon Dubai will significantly impact every aspect of the UAE’s economy, including tourism, transportation, commercial and residential real estate, infrastructure, financial services, aviation and space, energy, MICE, agriculture, technology and of course education,”
