The Red Magic 8 Pro will be available on December 26 after missing its original December 16 launch date for unknown reasons. Nubia has now confirmed some details about the upcoming phone, specifically its battery.
A couple of Weibo teasers reveal that the upcoming gaming smartphone will have a 6,000 mAh battery. It will also support charging at up to 165W rates, which means a full charge will take less than a quarter-hour.
The nubia Red Magic 8 Pro will be powered by an 8C battery (eight separate cells for safety and efficiency) and charged with three different outputs at the same time to protect the device.
The phone will charge from 0 to 100% in 14 minutes, according to the ZTE-owned brand, using the proprietary 165W charger and USB-C to USB-C cable.
The teasers also mention a 47-hour battery life, which isn’t much of an indication without a specific usage pattern.
The current Red Magic flagship, the 7S Pro, was already performing admirably, with a 110h endurance rating in our own testing. The Red Magic 8 Pro is likely to outperform it.
Design
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer’s upcoming phone lineup will include two models. The Red Magic 8 Pro and 8 Pro+ models are included.
Specifications
The Red Magic 8 Pro series is expected to have a similar display size on both variants. In other words, the front has a tall 6.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels.
