The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC) has announced the tentative date for the start of matriculation exams across the province. Matric exams will begin on April 1, 2023, with the first exam of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part II.
The date was confirmed in an official handout from a PBCC meeting earlier today at its office in BISE Lahore.
During the meeting, the PBCC approved a revised fee/application form submission schedule for the first annual SSC Part I and II exams.
According to the official handout, all educational boards in the province will receive admission forms with a single fee from January 20 to 25. From 26 January to 6 February, students will be allowed to submit admission forms with double fee.
Admission forms submitted between the 7th and 14th of February will be charged 3 times the normal fee. No admission forms will be accepted after February 14th.
Separately, the Punjab government has officially declared winter vacations for all public and private schools in the province.
Following a thorough investigation, Chief Adviser Curriculum Wing determined that officials from the Provincial Institute for Teacher Education (PITE) were negligent in ensuring fairness in the promotion exams.
The incident was blamed on two Deputy Directors, a Director, and three other officers, according to the investigation. The Chief Adviser Curriculum Wing has directed that these officers appear before Secretary SED Ghulam Akbar Leghari on January 11th.
