In a strong step to uplift education quality, the Punjab government has launched a Rs. 100 million reward program for top-performing schools. The scheme will honor 100 schools across the province’s 36 districts, each receiving Rs. 1 million. Recognizing Academic and Infrastructure Excellence
The program will evaluate schools on academic results, classroom quality, and infrastructure standards. Both Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) and Punjab Education Initiative Management Authority (PEIMA) institutions, including those outsourced by the government, will be eligible. By promoting fair assessment, the initiative seeks to motivate schools to improve not just results but also the learning environment for students.
Third-Party Evaluation to Ensure Fair Selection
A third-party evaluation system will determine which schools deserve the reward. The evaluators will visit campuses, check classroom facilities, and assess overall performance. Minister Highlights Goals of the Reward Program
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said the initiative will inspire schools to aim higher. He explained that rewarding excellence creates motivation among teachers and administrators. “This incentive will encourage schools to perform better and invest in improving students’ learning environments,” the minister said, emphasizing the government’s mission to strengthen the foundation of education across the province.

Officials believe this short pause will help stabilize Phase 2 schools before expanding further.
