The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued a notification detailing revised working hours for courts and offices during Ramadan. These changes aim to accommodate the holy month’s observances while ensuring judicial operations continue smoothly. The updated timings will apply to the LHC’s principal seat, its benches, and Civil and Sessions Courts across Punjab.
Revised Court Timings
From Monday to Thursday, court sittings will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a 30-minute interval. Proceedings will resume from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. On Fridays, court sittings will run from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a break until 11:30 AM, and then continue until 12:30 PM. Saturdays will be reserved for dictating judgments unless otherwise decided by a judge.

Office Hours During Ramadan
Office hours for court staff will also be adjusted. From Monday to Thursday and on Saturdays, offices will operate from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. On Fridays, working hours will be shortened, with offices closing at 12:30 PM. These changes ensure staff can balance their professional duties with Ramadan’s spiritual commitments.

Civil and Sessions Courts Timings
Civil and Sessions Courts across Punjab will follow a slightly different schedule. From Monday to Thursday and on Saturdays, these courts will function from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. On Fridays, timings will be from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This adjustment ensures consistency across all judicial bodies while respecting the holy month’s traditions.
Resumption of Normal Timings
The notification clarifies that these revised timings are temporary and will remain in effect only during Ramadan. Once the holy month concludes, normal court and office hours will resume. This ensures minimal disruption to the judicial process while accommodating the needs of those observing Ramadan.
