All Sindh Private Schools’ Association has declared that due to the severe rains in Karachi on Thursday, August 18, 2022, all schools would be closed.
The monsoon downpour and heavy cloudburst on Wednesday night caused disasters, flooding numerous roadways, including Shahrah e Faisal and other low-lying regions.
For the government schools, there isn’t a statement yet.
North Karachi, New Karachi, Shadman Town, Buffer Zone, Federal B Area, Nazimabad, Baldia Town, Ittehad Town, Shah Faisal Colony, Green Town, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, Star Gate, Wireless Gate, Al-Falah, and Model Colony are among the regions that have been most severely impacted.
All areas became completely dark once the electricity was cut off until final reports.

The electric utility has further given people advice to take extra precautions with youngsters and keep them away from electric equipment.
It is important to note that the Met Office forecast scattered areas of rain in the Sindh divisions of Karachi, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Thatta, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Hyderabad.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a few significant downpours are also predicted for lower Sindh. Rainfall at this time is anticipated to persist.
