As the release of Nvidia’s RTX 4000 series approaches, the internet is awash in leaks, speculations, and pure conjecture. The RTX 4070 Ti, a card that will allegedly be so powerful that it “can easily beat the RTX 3090 Ti,” is the subject of the most recent set of claimed specifications.
The most recent Ada Lovelace leak originates from a well-known Twitter leaker, Kopite7kimi.
They assert that the RTX 4070 Ti will use a full-fat AD104 GPU and be so potent that it can compete with the RTX 3090 Ti, the current Ampere flagship.
According to reports, the TSMC N4 process node-based AD104 GPU has up to 160 ROPs, 7,680 CUDA cores, or 60 SM units, 30 billion transistors, and 7,680 CUDA cores.
Additionally, we anticipate the RTX 4070 Ti will include 12GB of GDDR6X memory running at 21 Gbps on a 192-bit bus and 48 MB of L2 cache, giving it a maximum bandwidth of 504 GB/s.
The RTX 4070 Ti is a power-hungry GPU, as we have seen with almost every Lovelace leak. Its alleged 400W TDP is not far from the 450W TDP of the RTX 3090 Ti.
The RTX 4070 Ti contains 1.7 billion more transistors and a more recent production node than the RTX 3090 Ti, which is constructed using Samsung’s 8nm technology.
Despite having fewer CUDA cores (10,752), more GDDR6X memory (24 GB, also at 21 Gbps), and a slower memory bus than the Ampere card (384-bit).
The RTX 4070 Ti should be significantly less expensive than the current-generation card, which Nvidia just dropped from its $1,999 MSRP to $1,599. It could also match the performance of the RTX 3090 Ti.
In fact, all new GPU generations offer better performance than their forerunners, but Lovelace-related rumors and leaks indicate this improvement could be substantial.
In addition to the most recent assertions that a mid-range product can compete with a current-generation flagship.
Recently, it was reported that the RTX 4090 might be 66 percent quicker than the RTX 3090 Ti and twice as fast as the RTX 3090.
But with the RTX 3000-series’ average selling price declining, deciding whether to get an Ampere card right away or wait until Lovelace becomes available is not an easy one.
