Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a Rs. 6,000 reduction in Umrah rates effective immediately.
The revised rates will be available immediately for travel to Jeddah from Lahore, Islamabad, Sialkot, Peshawar, Multan, and Faisalabad.
PIA Reduces Umrah Tickets Prices
According to a PIA official, the two-way Umrah cost from these cities to Jeddah will be Rs. 87,000 excluding tax, while the fare from Karachi and Quetta will be Rs. 79,000.
The decrease in Umrah costs is a positive development for Pakistani pilgrims, who have been hit hard by rising inflation and a weaker currency.
The measure is also likely to increase passenger load and revenue for PIA.
Hajj Policy 2024
Furthermore, the long-awaited announcement of the Hajj Policy for 2024 was postponed on Wednesday due to a scheduling conflict with the Minister of Religious Affairs.
The delay was attributed to ongoing discussions and efforts to reduce the cost of the Hajj package, according to the ministry of religious affairs.
According to sources, the federal cabinet just adopted the Hajj Policy 2024.
Among the significant improvements is the introduction of a shorter Hajj package spanning between 20 and 25 days, giving potential pilgrims more flexibility.
