On flights between Pakistan and China, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has provided student discounts of 10%.
The national flag airline now runs two flights each week on the itineraries of Islamabad-Chengdu-Islamabad and Islamabad-Xian-Beijing-Islamabad. After completing their study, students returning to their home countries from China might immediately benefit from the discount, an airline spokesman told on Sunday.
Many Pakistani students with enrollments in Chinese colleges who are now stuck in Pakistan because of Covid-19 travel restrictions desire to travel to China to enroll in offline courses. In this regard, they are awaiting the Chinese government’s consent.
The first group of Pakistani students arrived in Xian, China, on June 20 thanks to a special PIA flight that left from Islamabad. Due to Covid-19, these students were confined to their homeland.
The airports in Xian and Beijing were restricted to foreign flights as a result of Covid-19 prevention and control measures, therefore PIA resumed passenger flights between Pakistan and China after a break of over six months.
On August 14, the 75th anniversary of Pakistan’s independence, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) offered a 14 percent discount on domestic flights.
