Peugeot has depended substantially on sales of the 2008 model in recent years. It consistently ranks among the top three best-selling B-segment subcompact SUVs in Europe; in 2021, it topped the sector and was the continent’s fifth most popular car overall.
Peugeot 2008 Makeover
However, the crossover underperformed last year, falling outside the top ten selling vehicles, so a facelifted 2008 was required. The redesigned 2008 is now on show in its electrified e-2008 form, according to the French automaker.
The makeover brings the Peugeot 2008 in line with the brand’s new visual identity, which debuted with the 508 earlier this year. It gets a new, larger grille with Peugeot’s new corporate logo, giving the crossover more attitude.

The claw-like triple vertical lights are embedded into the glossy black inlays of the bumper. The GT variant’s full-LED headlights include the characteristic design.
Moving on, Peugeot has updated the LED taillights by superimposing three horizontal double slats to emphasise the “three claw” impression.
The turn signals and reverse lights are also LED. Other exterior changes include 16 to 18-inch wheels inspired by the 408, as well as a new Selenium Grey exterior colour.

The interior upgrades are less visible, however there are new materials and graphics on the 10-inch i-Cockpit instrument cluster.
GT models, on the other hand, continue to stand out with 3D displays. All models now include a 10-inch touchscreen for the new infotainment system, which is situated in the centre of the dashboard.
Peugeot has extended the functionalities of the MyPeugeot app while maintaining the tech focus.
Drivers of 2008 vehicles can now keep digital versions of all maintenance invoices and transmit navigation instructions to the vehicle from their smartphones prior to a journey.

Under the hood, there have been more major modifications as Peugeot has boosted the range and power of the e-2008.
The hardware from the e-208 and e-308 is reused, resulting in a 156 horsepower (115 kW) electric motor, a 15% improvement.
The battery pack has been expanded from 50 to 54 kWh, resulting in an increase in WLTP range on the mixed cycle of 345 to 406 km.
A new hybrid with a 136-hp gasoline engine and a six-speed, dual-clutch automatic gearbox with an electric motor will be added to the powertrain lineup in early 2024. It is claimed to use up to 15% less fuel than a typical petrol engine.
Peugeot will continue to sell the 2008 with a three-cylinder, 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine. It has either 130 hp with an eight-speed automatic transmission or 100 hp with a six-speed manual gearbox. Customers can also opt for the vehicle’s proprietary 130 horsepower, four-cylinder, 1.5-liter diesel engine.
The new Peugeot 2008 facelift, as well as the pure electric e-2008, will go on sale in the second part of this year. We’ll have to wait and see when it comes to our corner of the planet.
