According to the 2019 constitution, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to execute its legal requirement of paying the salaries of coaches for the six cricket associations.
Coaches have apparently not been paid for four months, raising serious concerns.
While the domestic arrangement has changed with Najam Sethi’s appointment as chairman, the coaches involved in the previous setup have been struggling because they have not received their wages for several months.
PCB on coaches’s salaries
However, PCB officials have refuted this assertion, claiming that 87 of the 150 coaches have already received their full pay. However, a few coaches are still owed money, which the PCB is working to resolve.
According to sources, the outstanding payments of 28 coaches will be paid in full this week, while the remaining 35 coaches working with the associations will be paid by the end of April.
Salary delays can be difficult for coaches because they rely on the money to make ends meet.
It should ensure that all coaches’ salaries are paid on time and without delay, in accordance with their legal requirements.
Former all-rounder Azhar Mahmood has expressed his reservations about the recruiting strategy, revealing that he was willing to become Pakistan’s head coach until the PCB changed their mind at the last minute, bringing in Abdul Rehman.
Azhar Mahmood’s dissatisfaction
Former Pakistani fast bowler Azhar Mahmood has expressed his dissatisfaction with the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) decision-making process and its impact on the team’s managerial stability.
Mahmood, who was allegedly a strong candidate for head coach, was not selected for the series against Afghanistan, prompting him to criticise the board’s actions.
Azhar Mahmood claimed in an interview that the board’s decision-making process can be unpredictable and irregular, leading to a lack of stability in the management of the Pakistan cricket team.
