Babar Azam, Pakistan’s all-format captain, was not consulted by the selection committee before choosing squad for the T20I and ODI series against New Zealand.
Babar Azam is not aware of the final team, despite media reports claiming that the selection committee has decided on both squads for the home series, which will be released this week.
According to reports, Babar Azam arrived in Pakistan early for team selection consultation after travelling to Saudi Arabia to conduct Umrah.
Yet, he was not consulted before any players were included or excluded by the selection committee. Instead, they used the coaching staff’s recommendations while making player selections.

The sources have also stated that Mickey Arthur alone chooses the players, and the captain is not even aware of who is on the team for the series.
Grant Bradburn and Andrew Piotke, who are awaiting the contract to apply for visas, will join the national team before the series if PCB finishes the necessary paperwork.
Ihsanullah and Saim Ayub, two up-and-coming players who excelled in the Afghanistan series last month, are reportedly participating in both the ODI and T20I series.
