Abdul Haseeb Khan, a Karachi businessman, has opened Pakistan’s first fast-charging station for electric automobiles.
The Libra Charging Hub station includes 160 kW fast chargers that can re-energize both high-end EVs and Chinese EVs with lesser batteries.

The station is situated in Saddar, one of Karachi’s busiest public areas. In just 15 minutes, the rapid chargers can charge a car from 0 to 80%. In an interview with a news station, Khan stated, “It is the first fast-charging station in Pakistan. There are several stations for EVs charging in Pakistan, but this station offers 160 kW fast charging, which allows for a charging time of just 15 minutes.”
Khan went on to say that charging costs Rs. 65 per kWh. This indicates that a full charge for a regular EV with a 46 kWh battery pack will cost around Rs. 3000.
He urged the government to install more Pole Mounted Transformers (PMT) to help with the construction of such stations across Pakistan.
“It is an environmentally friendly fuel that can aid the government in offloading some of the energy burdens,” Khan remarked, adding that by switching to EVs, car owners can avoid refueling.
