Pakistan’s exports of products and services to China increased by 37.68% in the first ten months of the current fiscal year (2023-24) compared to the same period last year, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said on Wednesday afternoon.
Ultimately exports to China were $2.341 billion in July-April (2023-24), compared to $1.700 billion in July-April (2022-23), according to SBP data.
Year over year, exports to China increased by 13.56 percent, from $175.542 million in April 2023 to $199.352 million in April 2024.
Exports to China decreased by 18.97 percent month on month in April 2024, compared to $246.030 million in March 2024, according to SBP data.
Pakistan’s Exports
Overall, Pakistan’s exports to other countries increased by 10.64 percent in the first ten months, from $23.199 billion to $25.669 billion, according to SBP data.
Imports from China
Imports from China into the country during the review period totaled $10.648 billion, up from $8.343 billion the previous year, representing a 27.61 percent increase in July-April (2023-24).
Overall imports into Pakistan decreased by 5.27 percent, from $45.766 billion to $43.353 billion.
