Pakistan received 100,000 doses of the Hepatitis-A vaccination from the People’s Republic of China on Wednesday.
Gao Qiang, CEO of Sinovac, presented vaccinations to Abdul Qadir Patel, Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination, on behalf of the Government of Pakistan.
Speaking at the event, Qadir Patel thanked the Chinese government and people, saying it is encouraging to see the Pak-China relationship reach yet another milestone.
He continued by saying that relations between Pakistan and China are solid, sincere, and long-lasting.
He said that Pakistan is still dealing with the effects of the greatest floods the nation has ever experienced, and that vast populations are still residing in flood relief camps in the provinces of Sindh and Balochistan.
Children and adults living in these rescue camps are extremely susceptible to disease transmission.
He said that the government’s main priority is to provide relief to the people of Pakistan who have been devastated by the floods. He claimed the risk of an epidemic of the hepatitis-A virus is quite high.
“In this difficult time, we are really grateful for the donation of 100,000 doses of Hepatitis-A vaccine by Sinovac for children and adults.”
According to him, this action strengthens Pakistan and China’s strategic cooperative collaboration for the two countries’ mutual health and development.
According to Gao Qiang, CEO of Sinovac, today represents a new milestone in the seventy years of unrivalled friendship between China and Pakistan that has been founded on mutual trust, respect, and kindness.
