On Monday, Pakistan strongly denounced yet another “abhorrent” incident of the Holy Quran’s desecration in Denmark, calling it an example of the rising anti-Islamic sentiment in the world.
Rasmus Paludan, a far-right activist who is both a citizen of Sweden and Denmark, angered the Muslim community on January 21 by holding a Quran-burning demonstration in Sweden, according to Al Arabiya.
Paludan promised to repeat the act each Friday until Sweden is admitted to NATO in front of a mosque and the Turkish Embassy in Copenhagen on Friday.

“The recurrence of such wilful and vile acts is a troubling manifestation of growing hatred, racism and phobia against Muslims and their faith,” Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said in a statement.
She claimed that the recurrence of such deliberate acts puts into doubt the effectiveness of the legal system, which allows Islamophobes to operate anonymously and promote hatred without consequence.
She argued that exercising one’s freedom of expression could not be used as a cover to purposefully disparage religious figures or the Holy Books.
The spokesperson urged all states to create legal deterrent in accordance with their obligations under international human rights law in order to prevent and prosecute such offences.
“We also call upon the international human rights machinery to speak out against such intentional actions that constitute incitement to hate, discrimination and violence against Muslims solely because of their faith,” the spokesperson remarked.
