As part of their attempts to strengthen military ties, China and Pakistan launched their joint air force exercise Shaheen X in China on Monday. Joint air defence and joint countermeasures will be major focuses of the air force’s training exercises.
The drills will involve ground and air forces from both sides, including ground-to-air missiles, radar, and signal personnel, as well as fighter planes, early warning aircraft, and other types of aircraft.
Chinese naval aviation units will join in on the drills as well.
In March of 2011, the two countries began holding joint exercises under the “Shaheen” name. They will aid in increasing co operation between the two countries.
