The CEO of Turkey’s first domestically produced electric automobile manufacturer, Togg, Gürcan Karakaş, has stated that the company plans to ship over a thousand automobiles in May.
According to an interview with an international magazine, Karakaş said, “We will deliver more cars in June,” and by the end of the year, a grand total of 28,000.
By the end of 2023, he added, Togg would have roughly 650 charging stations spread out at 25-kilometer intervals.
Between March 16 and March 27, over 177,000 TOGG T10Xs were pre-ordered on the website.
Togg’s earliest adopters of the T10 electric vehicle were randomly picked online.
Togg’s three T10X models cost between 953,000 and 1.06 million and 1.22 million Turkish Liras, respectively.
Originally, Togg anticipated beginning shipments around the middle of April. Karakaş said earlier this week, “we needed to carry out some improvement work, more related to the software side,” to explain the delayed deliveries.
In my opinion, this is not much of a holdup. The first shipments will begin by the month’s end, he promised.
The electric automobiles in Turkey are gaining popularity
The electric vehicle sector in Turkey is experiencing intense competition. Earlier this month, the Turkish market saw the beginning of pre-sales for Tesla’s Model Y. Prices for Tesla’s three models in Turkey range from 1.56 million liras to 1.63 million liras to 1.8 million liras.
The number of electric vehicles sold in Türkiye in March increased by 244% year over year, reaching 2,193. Last month’s sales of electric vehicles were 2.8% of the total.
almost the first three months of the year, EV sales increased by almost 335 percent, reaching 4,670 units.
