In order to make it easier for the government to collect government receipts, duties, and taxes, it has been decided that the authorized branches of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and the field offices of the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) Banking Services Corporation will both observe extended banking hours on June 29 and 30, 2022, respectively, until 8 PM and 12 AM.
To facilitate the same-day clearing of payment instruments, National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (NIFT) has been instructed to set up a special clearing at 12 AM on June 30, 2022.
The authorized branches of the National Bank of Pakistan and SBP Banking Services Corporation will operate with longer hours on June 29 and 30, 2022, respectively, in order to make it easier for the government to collect receipts, duties, and taxes. In light of this, NIFT has been instructed to set up a special clearing at 12:00 AM on June 30, 2022, in order to facilitate the same-day clearing of payment instruments.
On June 30, 2022, all banks are urged to maintain their relevant branches open until it is time for the NIFT to do special clearance for government transactions.
