Lt Gen Javed Mahmood Bukhari (retd), Rector of NUST, and H.E Mitsuhiro Wada, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, jointly inaugurated Pakistan’s first Pak-Japan Centre at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST).
This structure was built in collaboration with NUST and Plus W Inc., a Japanese organisation run for the benefit of the Japanese government.
H.E. Imtiaz Ahmad, First Secretary, Economic & Development Section, Embassy of Japan in Islamabad, Tsuchiya Taiji, and Ms. Ismat Hassan Sial, Charge d’Affaires, Embassy of Pakistan in Tokyo were also present at the ceremony.
The primary goal of this structure will be to promote and expand the number of connections between Pakistan and Japan in order to develop a regional organisation, such as human resource development and joint research, particularly in the field of information technology.
This will also make it easier for Japanese and Pakistani companies to establish operations in each other’s countries by familiarizing their employees with each other’s cultures, business concepts, and basic language skills. Both ambassadors thanked NUST and Plus W for their contributions to the formation of this alliance.
In his statement, the Rector of NUST emphasized the importance of stronger business collaboration between the two countries.
Furthermore, according to him, the organisation, this would not only empower students, staff, and researchers with new paths for practical research in cutting-edge sectors, but would also be beneficial for their capacity building, in accordance with the hopes and desires of Japanese and Pakistani companies.
