Osman Nasir, the former MD PSEB has served out his term, hence the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) is beginning the hiring process for a new Managing Director (MD) for Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). He also rejected any request for an extension.
The previous administration appointed Osman Nasir as MD PSEB on the MP-1 scale for a two-year term, and his tenure came to an end on August 13.
Osman Nasir has also refuted allegations that he plans to ask for a promotion to MD PSEB.
He said in a blog interview that the PSEB board had extended his contract based on performance; nonetheless, he rejected the offer and departed the company.
He said that as the MD of PSEB, he worked nonstop to create the foundation for IT exports and increase them to $2 billion.
Officials from the MoITT have verified that the MD PSEB’s term has ended in conversations with a blog website.
The representative stated that the appropriate authorities would decide whether to assign this post’s extra duties to any other representative of the Ministry.
The MoITT will publish an advertisement for the next MD, following which the hiring procedure will begin.
On the advice of the former IT Minister, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, former Prime Minister Imran Khan selected Osman Nasir as MD PSEB.
The application contesting Osman Nasir’s appointment for the past two years is pending in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
