IM Motors, a joint venture of SAIC Motor, Alibaba, and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech, has unveiled the LS6 as the latest addition to its product lineup in the Chinese market. Surprisingly, the LS6 received over 25,000 pre-orders before its official launch.

The IM LS6 is a mid-size electric SUV with dimensions of 4,904/1,988/1,669 mm and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.
Though its profile resembles Tesla’s Model Y, it is worth noting that the LS6 is 154 mm longer than the Tesla.
The LS6 has a sleek, streamlined body design with unique features like droplet-shaped headlights, retractable door handles, and a unified taillight unit that gracefully extends past the ducktail spoiler.
Notably, the LS6 achieves a low drag coefficient of 0.237 Cd.
Interior Design Innovations
Depending on the variant, the IM LS6 comes with either a D-shaped conventional steering wheel or a steering yoke.
The large 26.3-inch screen, which serves as both a center screen and an instrument cluster, is the interior’s standout feature.
A 15.5-inch screen is optional for the front passenger, and there is another touchscreen on the central tunnel for controlling various vehicle functions.
The drive mode selector is conveniently located on the steering column, and the cockpit is equipped with an NVIDIA Orin chip for its advanced driving assistance system.
The interior is spacious, with a trunk capacity of 665 liters that can be expanded to 1,640 liters when the rear seats are folded down.
The LS6 is an electric vehicle (EV) with a front trunk or “frunk” with a capacity of 32 liters.
Outstanding Variants and Performance
The LS6 is available in a variety of powertrain configurations. The base model has a single electric motor on the rear axle that produces 314 hp and 450 Nm.
It has a 71-kWh ternary (NMC) battery and a range of 560 km under CLTC conditions.
This variant takes 5.9 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. The second variant has a more powerful electric motor that produces 340 hp and 450 Nm. It comes with a larger 90-kWh battery.
