It is a fantastic move on Nestlé’s part to empower rural women and provide them the opportunity to become financially independent.
A Nestlé official gave Razia Bibi, who only sold a few supermarket products with a low turnover in her neighborhood, a loan so she could raise money.
Razia bibi increased her product portfolio with the help of this financing. She can now both educate the kids and provide them with wholesome meals.
It is crucial to recognize and celebrate women like Razia bibi on this International Day of Rural Women since she has big dreams but just needs a little help.
Naseem founded a tiny grocery store in her neighborhood with a limited selection of goods to support her husband and make ends meet. The Nestlé team visited her on one of their trips to the hamlet and gave her a loan so she could buy nutritious Nestlé goods to sell to the locals.
The goal of the Nestlé BISP Rural Women Sales Program is to help the poorest of the poorest women achieve financial independence by giving them chances for a living. In addition to empowering women, this initiative is consistent with Nestlé’s principles of diversity for social impact and female empowerment.
Nestlé gave Akhuwat Pakistan, the largest interest-free microfinance program in Pakistan, PKR 2 million in revolving credit to give micro-loans to sales agents who, consequently, created their own stores in their localities. 200 microloans totaling PKR 15,000 have been disbursed thus far to beneficiaries.
It is crucial to recognize and celebrate women like Naseem on this International Day of Rural Women since she is one of the major players in achieving sustainable development and makes a substantial contribution to the local economy and communities.
