Rothe Ares Joint Venture, based in San Antonio, has been chosen to oversee NASA’s digital communication services and IT operations at all of the agency’s facilities.
The Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract combines fixed-price, fixed-delivery, and indefinite-quantity task orders with cost-plus-award-fee base services. Both cost-plus and fixed-price task orders are acceptable.
NASA agrees on contract in phases
There will be an initial 90-day phase-in beginning on May 2, followed by a 12-month base period, seven 12-month option periods, and a six-month extension that, if all options are exercised, would bring the total period of performance to January 31, 2032.
The total amount of the contract, including all options and IDIQ task order awards, could be as high as $814 million.
All of NASA’s centers and facilities will benefit from the contractor’s efforts to improve communications and IT infrastructure. Digital communications services, such as television and multimedia production, social media, and digital exhibits, will also be provided, in addition to information management services, customer collaboration and support services, and information technology management services.
