Twitter Circle, which was initially rolled out to a small group of users earlier this month, will now be expanded to include more people who can try out the service.
The tool is similar to Instagram’s ‘Close Friends,’ in that it allows users to choose which followers can see which tweets.
According to Android Police, the feature is now being rolled out to a larger number of users, who may notice a pop-up prompting them to tweet to their Circle when they log in.
Users must first choose “Compose tweet” before tapping the audience button above, which will reveal the Twitter Circle option.
By selecting the Edit button, users will be able to add or remove their followers from their Twitter Circle whenever they wish.
If a follower is added or deleted from someone’s Circle, they will not be alerted. Followers will see a green notice if they are added to Circle, indicating that they are part of the selected close followers.
This feature will allow users to tweet more personal messages to their close friends and will eliminate the need to maintain separate profiles for each follower. While Circle isn’t now available to everyone, it could be soon.
