National Institute of Child Health – (NICH), Karachi has a suspected case of Monkeypox reportedly.
In response to the spread of monkeypox cases throughout Europe, the United States, and the United Kingdom, Pakistan’s top health board issued a viral notice on Monday.
According to a National Institute of Health (NIH) announcement, federal and provincial health officials have been placed on high alert, and orders have been issued to check travelers at airports and other gateways.
The organization also stated that all major private and public hospitals are required to create isolation units. It also warned hospital medical workers to be cautious around monkeypox patients.
The Sindh government has urged health facilities to be on the lookout for monkeypox cases, as per the NIH’s instructions.
In light of the worldwide situation, Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho has asked all healthcare facilities and providers in the state to report suspected monkeypox cases.
Dr. Pechuho instructed health facilities to report suspicious cases to the Provincial Disease Surveillance and Response Unit (PDSRU) at the Directorate General Health Services Sindh Hyderabad and the Regional Disease Surveillance and Response Unit at Karachi for prompt and immediate intervention.
