According to reports, the Punjab Cricket Association’s I.S. Bindra Stadium in Mohali may not be one of the venues hosting the games after being removed from the list of potential venues for the tournament.
Except for the final, which is set to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to confirm the venues for any of the matches.
Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot, and Mumbai are among the other 11 cities that could host matches.
Despite the BCCI’s lack of official communication, the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) is reportedly speeding up construction work at its new Mullanpur Stadium in Mohali in preparation for the World Cup. So far, the PCA Stadium has played host to four ICC World Cup matches and three ICC World T20 matches.
