The Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) has chosen to develop a YouTube channel of its own.
According to records available to a blog website, the Divisional Development Working Party (DDWP) approved the project ‘Popularization of Science through Mass Media’ on May 25, 2021, at a total cost of Rs. 62.407 million.
The Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) will build a YouTube channel and promote science and technology through print and electronic media as part of the project.
It is primarily focused at popularizing science, and the government has recommended allocating Rs. 30 million for this purpose for the fiscal year 2022-2023.
The YouTube channel’s studios will be established in both the PSF and the MoST.
The PSF is the country’s apex body for the promotion and support of scientific and technological research, as well as the popularization of science.
According to the ministry, scientific knowledge is in short supply, and the YouTube channel will play an important role in sharing such information as well as popularizing science.
Syed Shibli Faraz, the federal Minister of Science and Technology, has directed the PSF to begin work on the project. PSF executives stated that the organization is prepared to carry out the project and that hiring will begin soon.
This project is critical because it will aid in the promotion of science projects and the dissemination of information about new research to the general audience.
