Microsoft Lists, the task management app, is now available as a free download.
It was initially launched in 2020 with restricted access for business and enterprise users, but a limited consumer preview was made available last year.

Microsoft has now expanded access to anyone with a Microsoft Account, providing a free version of Microsoft Lists via iOS and Android apps, as well as web browsers.
Microsoft Lists gives users the ability to create, organize, and collaborate on lists across multiple devices.
It includes pre-designed templates for tasks such as expense tracking, recipe management, gift planning, and others.
Users can easily share their lists with coworkers, friends, and family, allowing for collaborative contributions from multiple people.
Microsoft Lists provides a basic grid-style list view.
But it also allows you to switch to a calendar view or customize the layout, similar to Asana and Airtable.
Users can also export lists to CSV files, making data transfer to other applications and services easier.
According to Garima Wadhera, a principal program manager at Microsoft:
We’re excited to see what sorts of information tracking goodness you create during preview, and how you share it all. Create, use, and share your information with anyone, anywhere while on the go with a personalized, mobile-first experience.
Microsoft Lists is currently available in preview at lists.microsoft.com and through dedicated iOS and Android apps, but no plans for a desktop application or an official launch date have been announced.
