After experiencing a two-hour outage that affected its social networking apps, Meta said that the problem had been “fixed” and all the apps were back up and running in the early hours of Saturday.
Thousands of customers were affected by the outage globally, with almost 20,000 people saying they had problems accessing Facebook, Instagram, and Meta’s messaging App WhatsApp.
Meta Apps Also Were Not Working In Pakistan
The platforms were malfunctioning from about midnight to three in the morning in Pakistan as well.
Downdetector.com, an outage monitoring website, noted that the applications were down around the same hours, with 49% of users having trouble using WhatsApp to send messages, 32% having trouble using it to send voice notes, and 19% not being able to use it at all.
Users of Instagram reported issues with the app (42%), logging in (35%), and loading the website (23%), respectively. At least 46% of Facebook users were unable to get into the app, 34% were unable to access the website, and 20% had problems with the server.
According to Downdetector, the number of outage reports has decreased to less than 500 as of 22:30 GMT, as reported by Reuters.
Around 1:45 a.m., social media giant posted on Twitter, “We know some of you might be experiencing issues with our apps today. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience.”

But social media giant made no mention of the cause of the problem.
By combining status information from many sources, including user-submitted problems on its platform, Downdetector keeps track of outages. There’s a chance that more customers are being impacted by the outage.
According to the business, problems with Meta’s Ads Manager, the platform that allows businesses to buy and generate Facebook ads, were also fixed.
