According to previous rumors, the Apple iMac Pro is no longer available, but a new source claims the iMac Pro is still alive and well.
According to Mark Gurman’s weekly Bloomberg, an M3 version of the iMac Pro is now in development and will be released “by the end of next year at the earliest.” Of course, Gurman doesn’t think Apple will omit an M2 iMac, and he said in March that he expects it to be released soon.
Gurman isn’t the only one who thinks an iMac Pro is on the way. Last month, Ming-Chi Kuo, another prominent Apple analyst, predicted that a Mac Pro and an iMac Pro will be released in 2023.
More details on the iMac Pro may be revealed during Apple’s next WWDC event on June 6. However, take these reports with a grain of salt until the tech giant formally unveils the desktop.
Mac Studio is the better alternative
The Apple March Event has come and gone, with the company revealing a slew of exciting new products. Apple, on the other hand, never announced an iMac 27-inch (2022) and quietly withdrew the model.
Despite the fact that current reports suggest an iMac Pro for next year, the Mac Studio renders an iMac pro obsolete.
The Studio Display itself has a 5K resolution, P3 color gamut coverage with 10-bit colour depth, 600-nit brightness, a three-mic array built-in, a six-speaker sound system with spatial audio compatibility, and an A13 Bionic chip.
The Studio Display may be connected to the Mac Studio, providing a compact alternative as well as an easy option for consumers to replace the PC once it becomes obsolete.
Apple can also focus on more power and better cooling by removing the all-in-one feature. That doesn’t completely eliminate the iMac Pro’s market.
But it does shrink it significantly. As a result, it will be intriguing to watch what, if any, improvements Apple makes to its All-in-One pro desktop.
