Lenovo has quietly introduced a new budget-friendly ThinkPad duo, the ThinkPad E14 G4 and ThinkPad E15 G4, into the market without any prior announcement.
For the E series, which will receive a minor CPU update this year, skipping an announcement is nothing new.
The previous iteration of the ThinkPad series’ 16:9 aspect ratio design is carried over to the new models. In terms of display size, the Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 4 has a 15′′ screen, while the E14 Gen 4 has a 14′′ screen.
In terms of connectivity, both versions provide USB 2.0 ports, which is a far cry from what was previously intended.
It should be noted, however, that the new models do not have any new features and only offer slight improvements over their predecessors.
The CPUs, on the other hand, are changed, with the Ryzen 5000 Barcelo-U series replacing the previous model’s Rembrandt. When compared to the Ryzen 6000, these CPU variants have less capability.
However, based on what we’ve learned so far, it appears like the ThinkPad E14 and E15 G4’s main selling point will be their cost.
While we wait for the company to make an official announcement about the pricing and detailed spec sheet of the new Lenovo ThinkPad E15 and E14 G4 series, their not-so-hefty price tags continue to draw user attention to the models.
