Direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Karachi will soon begin in an effort to strengthen economic and cultural connections between Pakistan and Malaysia.
Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, made these comments at a meeting with Adnan Jalil, the Minister of Industries, Commerce, and Technical Education for the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Malaysian official said that the increased opportunities for bilateral cooperation and development in the tourism industry are just two of the many benefits that will result from the return of direct air connectivity.
While direct flights are now only available from Lahore, the Malaysian official explained that they are planning to expand to additional places, including Karachi, a major port.
Mazlan admitted that the COVID-19 pandemic had disrupted many industries, including direct flights, but he promised that service would be restored as soon as possible. He said that the country’s long- and medium-term economic plans, which are revised every five years, were responsible for Malaysia’s progress.
At the discussion, the Malaysian envoy emphasised the need for increased bilateral trade between Pakistan and Malaysia, citing the country’s large untapped potential in this area. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa businessmen were specifically invited to take part in this initiative and help strengthen ties.
Kuala Lumpur is a great tourist attraction
It’s worth noting that millions of people from Pakistan, among others, visit Kuala Lampur, Malaysia every year to marvel at the country’s natural beauty and booming economy.
There were a total of 26,1 million international visitors to Malaysia in 2019, as reported by the country’s official tourism board, Tourism Malaysia.
Kuala Lumpur, with its famous landmarks like the Petronas Twin Towers, bustling street markets, and wonderful street cuisine, and Penang, known as the “Pearl of the Orient,” are just two of the many tourist hotspots in the country.
In addition to its mainland attractions, Malaysia is home to the popular tourist destination of Langkawi, an archipelago of 99 islands noted for its beautiful beaches, verdant jungles, and cable car journey up Mount Mat Cincang.
In addition, Borneo and the Cameron Highlands are popular destinations, and the city of Malacca displays a fusion of Chinese, Dutch, and Portuguese influences in its well-preserved architecture and rich legacy.
