The Saudi government, as well as investors, are interested in investing in Pakistan, according to Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin.
Yesterday at Finance Division, Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin met with Chairman Board of Investment (BOI) Azfar Ahsan and Ambassador of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ameer Khurram Rathore.
The Saudi government, as well as investors, are interested in investing in Pakistan, according to both the Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and the Chairman of the BOI.
The minister was advised that there is a great business potential for investment between the two countries at the government-to-government, government-to-business, and business-to-business levels.
The Saudi business community is eager to do business with Pakistan. There are investment opportunities in a variety of industries, including refinery, agriculture, information technology, and semiconductor manufacturing.
In consultation with respective ministries and provincial governments, the finance minister advised BOI to increase its focus on project development. He also urged the conclusion of discussions with prospective Saudi investors.
The finance minister praised Pakistan’s Embassy in Saudi Arabia’s efforts and assured the BOI and the embassy of the Ministry of Finance’s full support for their internal capacity-building efforts.
