Karachi Kings defeated Lahore Qalandars by 22 runs in Pakistan Super League 7 and won their first match. Despite their victory, their position in the PSL points table remained unchanged.
Karachi’s poor performance throughout the tournament has been attributed to a poor start to their innings, and that trend continued tonight as they lost wickets at the top of the order in quick succession. Despite Qasim Akram and Babar Azam’s small comebacks, Karachi could not maintain their momentum as Rashid Khan hit back with four wickets in his spell. Lewis Gregory’s helped Karachi post 149 runs on the board.
Lahore did not do much better at the start, losing their openers, Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique. They lost wickets at frequent intervals during their innings, resulting in 127/9 runs; the Karachi Kings got their first points.
