The federal capital city’s administration has taken precautions to ensure the health and safety of the visiting New Zealand cricket team by placing all hospitals on high alert.
On April 20 and 24, the away team will play the final two Twenty20 Internationals of the five-match T20I series, and on April 26, the away team will play the first of five One Day Internationals. The remaining three ODIs will be played in Karachi, where the tourists will stay.
The New Zealand cricket team will be in Islamabad from April 18th through the 27th, according to a letter released by municipal officials on Tuesday. The District Magistrate has written to both PIMS and Polyclinics to ensure that they are ready to handle any medical emergencies that may occur during the team’s stay.
Every medical facility in Islamabad has been urged to contribute two ambulances for speedy response.
The letter also noted that metro bus service would be unavailable while the teams were being transported to and from the stadium. The teams will be accompanied on their journey by two doctors and two ambulances from the nearby Polyclinic hospital Islamanad to assure their safety.
In addition, the letter stipulates that three medical teams be on standby at both hospitals at all times in case of an emergency.
During their time in Islamabad, the New Zealand cricket team can rest certain that the city administration is doing everything in its power to keep them safe. The local administration is pulling out all the stops to provide the best possible treatment for the visiting team.
