The CES 2022 showcased some cutting-edge technology and ground-breaking inventions that have the potential to improve our lives for the better. At CES this year, Intel, among other firms, unveiled its mainstream Alder Lake chipset family for the first time. The business introduced the 12th Generation KS series CPU, which would be available in limited quantities.
With an all-core boost of 5.2GHz, this forthcoming CPU can boost one of its cores up to 5.5GHz clock speed. An all-core 5.2GHz boost means that the user will be able to experience this speed even when the system is fully loaded.
Intel also demonstrated a configuration running Hitman 3 during the announcement, with the CPU keeping a steady 5.2GHz clock speed on all of its 8 performance cores during the presentation, and like the ordinary Core i9-12900K, this one also contains a set of 8 power-efficient E-cores. During the announcement, however, the business provided no information about temperatures or power use.
The company also indicated that the CPU will first be sold to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) before being made available to end-users for retail. However, no specific dates were provided.
Intel’s achievement of 5.2GHz on an all-core bump is both impressive and a reminder of how tough it is for chipmakers to provide major clock speed gains, especially given today’s production constraints.
