Following an almost two-hour outage on Friday morning, Instagram users in Pakistan and around the world breathed a sigh of relief as the platform resumed operations.
Users in Pakistan and thousands of others across the world claimed that they couldn’t access it at around 1:30 am Pakistan time.
A website outage detector called Down Detector confirmed that Instagram was down everywhere.
“Outages were reported in Pakistan as well as other parts of the world,” said Down Detector.
According to data gathered by the tracker, 73 percent of outages were reported by Instagram app users, while 23 percent of users had trouble signing in and 4 percent had trouble posting videos and photographs to the site.
Twitter, another microblogging platform, fell out globally and in Pakistan on Thursday night for roughly an hour.
Thousands of people worldwide had suddenly lost access to Twitter. At first, the issue only affected the website, but it eventually spread to the phone app as well.
Around 5:10 pm, Downdetector got hundreds of reports from Pakistan, many of which were from Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, and various other nations.
However, given that there have been reports from India and other nations as well, the issue looks to be widespread.
