The authorities continued to fight to keep the raging lake from bursting its banks as the floodwater torrent from Manchhar Lake flooded Indus Highway after flooding seven union councils, according to the News channel.
According to information, the land connection between Dadu and Larkana and Sehwan and Hyderabad has been severed, while the Indus Highway between Larkana and Hyderabad has been entirely submerged.
“The Indus Highway from Wahar to Sehwan Toll Plaza is submerged. The police have blocked the road by erecting barriers,” the motorway police said.
The Mohenjo-Daro Airport’s three-year closure is making matters worse for those who are stuck in their communities as a result of the closure of major roadways due to flooding.
Floodwater has closed the Indus Highway between Larkana, Hyderabad, and Karachi. Likely due to flooding, the Sukkur-Sukrand-Hyderabad National Highway is also closed for traffic.
The Mohenjo-Daro Airport’s aviation operations must start up again right away, according to the residents.
The flood-affected citizens of Khairpur Nathan Shah, who are homeless, hungry, and dehydrated, are still waiting for help.
They said in interviews with the media that nobody had warned them about the floodwater deluge that had engulfed their neighborhood and left them stranded on the rooftops of their homes.
They continued by saying that numerous stranded people were contracting various illnesses, such as malaria and diarrhea.
“Due to the lack of medical facilities, the lives of many people are at risk,” they expressed concern.
