Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, announced on Friday that India’s first CNG-powered motorcycle will be available in June.
This upcoming bike, expected to be in the 100-125cc range, is aimed at consumers who value fuel efficiency and mileage. It will be introduced under a brand new name.
CNG Motorcycles
CNG motorcycles are likely to be more expensive than traditional petrol bikes. This is because it incurs additional manufacturing costs.
And that has a special tank that can accommodate both petrol and CNG fuels.
Despite the initial investment, customers can expect to save significantly on operational costs, which are estimated to be half that of petrol motorcycles in the same engine category.
Rajiv Bajaj also praised the government’s efforts to expand the CNG pump network throughout the country.
CNG Vehicles
He mentioned the growing popularity of CNG vehicles in areas with increased fuel availability, indicating a positive trend towards alternative fuel options.
