When compared to the sales from the previous month, February saw a 36.8% decrease to 140,669 motorcycles sold. In particular, the sales of the semi-automatic model Wave Alpha, which is the company’s best-selling product overall, dropped by 42.6% when compared to those in January.

Automatic transmission motorbike lines account for more than 45% of the Vietnam market share
Earlier, the Vietnam Association of Motorbike Manufacturers (VAMM) made a prediction that the Vietnamese motorcycle market had entered a time of saturation and was transitioning from motorcycles with manual transmissions to ones with automatic transmissions.
This prediction was correct. At the moment, automatic transmission motorbike lines account for more than 45% of the market share.
In the not-too-distant future, when Vietnam’s per capita income improves, this will be a category that is expected to experience robust growth.
Moreover, Honda exported 23,917 motorcycles during the month of February.
In the meantime, the Japanese automaker reported a decrease of 7.3% from the previous month’s sales to 1,385 autos last month.
With a combined total of 1,235 vehicles sold in February, Honda City and Honda CR-V remained the company’s two best-selling models in Vietnam. This accounted for 89.2% of Honda Vietnam’s total car sales for the month.
