At the Thailand International Motor Expo, Honda presented the e: NP1 electric crossover SUV, a rebranded electric version of the Honda HR-V.
Honda‘s new brand, “e: N,” is designed specifically to serve the EV market. The letters “e” and “e” represent energized (power) and electric (electricity), respectively, and “N” stands for new (completely new) and next (evolution). The goal of e: N is to provide “a pure electric car with distinctive Honda features in the new era,” according to its mission statement.
The Honda e: NP1 small crossover SUV is already available in China. The Tesla Model Y, Volkswagen ID 4, Kia EV6, Hyundai IONIQ 5, and Toyota bZ4X are its rivals. It has a choice of two engines.
The base powertrain comprises a lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 53.6 kWh, 180 horsepower (hp), 310 Newton-meters (Nm), and a range of up to 420 kilometers. The smart powertrain has a 68.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, a 510-kilometer range, and produces 201 horsepower and torque of a similar magnitude.
The Honda e: NP1 might be the brand’s most luxurious passenger car yet. The SUV has a number of contemporary characteristics, such as:
- 25″ LCD instrument screen.
- 2″ central control screen.
- Dedicated e: N operating system.
- Honda CONNECT 3.0 intelligent guidance interconnection.
- Honda Sensing 360 advanced driving assistance system.
- Remote-operated doors, windows, and air conditioning control.
- DMC driver status perception system to recognize the driver’s state, detect changes in emotions, and actively send safety reminders to drivers.
