Karachi blocks roads for Muharram processions. Officials made a traffic plan. The main procession starts from Nishtar Park. It ends at Hussainia Iranian Imambargah. MA Jinnah Road will close from Gurumandir to Tower.
Alternative Routes during Muharram Processions
District Central:
- Nazimabad travelers use Lasbela Chowk to Nishtar Road via Garden.
- Liaquatabad travelers turn from Teen Hati to Lasbela Chowk. Head left to Central Jail (Martin Road).
- Hassan Square to PP Chowrangi travelers use Kashmir Road to Society Light Signal (Sharea Quaideen). Jail Flyover to Teen Hati to Nishtar Road (Lasbela Chowk) is another route.
District East:
- Sharea Faisal to Sharea Quaideen (Noorani Kebab) travelers use Kashmir Road on the right side of Society Light Signal.
- Central Jail gate (Jamshed Road) travelers to Gurumandir and MA Jinnah Road use Gurumandir to Bahadur Yar Jung Road, Soldier Bazaar.
District South:
- Garden Zoo travelers to MA Jinnah Road use Ankle Saria to Gul Plaza on the right.
- Use Coast Guards and Holy Family Hospital on the left to reach your destination.
Heavy Traffic Roads
- Cars on Super Highway and Gulberg must turn away.
- Go from Liaquatabad No-10 to Nazimabad Chowrangi No-2.
- Use Habib Bank Flyover, State Avenue Road, and Shershah to reach Mauripur.
- For National Highway, choose either Highway Faisal or Rashid Minhas Road.
- Use Stadium Road, Sir Shah Suleman Road, Hassan Square, Liaquatabad No. 10, and Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2.
- Then, follow Habib Bank Flyover, State Avenue Road, and Shershah to Mauripur.
- No cars can go on the procession route past Gurumandir Chowk.
- Go instead to Bahadur Yar Jung Road and Soldier Bazaar.
- Only cars with special stickers can go on MA Jinnah Road.
- Enter from Highway Leaders Society Light Signal.
Procession Participants:
- Nazimabad, Lasbella, Albella, and Garden Jamaat Khana participants proceed to Naumaish via Soldier Bazar No. 3 Light Signal.
- Liaquatabad participants join via Teen Hati, Jahangir Road, and Gurumandir to Naumaish.
- Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Gulshan-e-Iqbal participants join via University Road, Purani Sabzi Mandi, Kashmir Road, and Society Light Signal to Naumaish.
- Vehicles for Sabeel, Niaz, or Tabrak Taqeem enter the procession at Tower and Memon Mosque. No vehicles can park on the procession route.
